THE HISTORY OF THE COLLABORATION
MAISON 10 first collaborated with Lacrasia Gloves back in 2016. The opportunity to do so again, arose out of unfortunate circumstances, namely the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lacrasia Gloves was established in 1973 by Jay Ruckel and Lacrasia Duchein. Jay and Lacrasia made gloves ‘the way Shakespare’s daddy made [them]’ in their factory / shop in the Garment District up until 2017. It was during this year that they made the announcement that their exclusive glove business would continue into the future as part of WING + WEFT. With retirement in mind, they passed the gauntlet to trusted colleagues, a well-known team of industry professionals. This team included Principal Katie Sue Nicklos who was the lead designer on the special edition MAISON 10 FACE GLOVE.
In an era of overseas manufacturing and fast fashion, WING + WEFT (Home of Lacrasia Gloves) is the final remaining glove maker in New York. Everyone from debutantes and Broadway designers to stylists and celebrities rely on the hand-crafted precision of a pair of Lacrasia Gloves.
Clients have included global superstars such as Prince, Madonna, Grace Jones and possibly every celebrity that you can name.
You too can now be part of the fabulous Lacrasia Gloves story by owning a limited edition FACE GLOVE. To read the full history and view their incredible collection visit their website www.wingweftgloves.com
