Wave Serving Board – maple
Wave serving board Wave is a simple expression for a serving board made in Virginia of maple and walnut designed by the Keiji Ashizawa Studio. The inspiration is Seigaiha or the traditional and auspicious blues seas and wave pattern. Three sides are angled to make it easy to hold. The forth is straight for storing along a wall. About Keiji Ashizawa Studio
Keiji Ashizawa established his studio in 2005. He names his work “honest” design maximizing the potential of a material for its function. In 2011 after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake he established Ishinomaki Laboratory producing furniture as a community recovery effort for the stricken area. He led a Boisbucket Workshop in 2016 and gave a talk on “Building Community in Detroit & Regional Japan” in 2017 in Michigan. Now he is active internationally in furniture and lighting.
