Shibari Milk Bottle

Regular price $195

The classic milk bottle form, a symbol of innocence and nostalgia, is subverted through the erotic art of Japanese rope bondage. Wheel thrown using brown-speckled stoneware, the bottle’s raw texture and contrasting ceramic rope, finished in a matte black glaze, evoke the sensuality of queer subculture.

About Studio Alien Ceramics:
Eric Higgins, aka Studio Alien, is a ceramic artist based in New York City who crafts functional sculptures inspired by themes of bondage, yearning and queer identity.

By combining traditional wheel-throwing with experimental hand-building techniques, Higgins pushes boundaries to construct vessels that are both familiar yet subversive. Raw texture and graphic contrast are central to his visual language; controlling the clay’s natural grit through striking compositions of structure and shadow.

Higgins is originally from central Maryland where he grew up playing with mud in the creek behind his family home; he has been formally working with clay for over 8 years.
